Event Description
"In Slavery’s Wake: Making Black Freedom in the World" immerses visitors in the freedom-making practices of Black communities navigating both the histories and the legacies of racial slavery and colonialism. This temporary exhibition at the National Museum of African American History and Culture (open through June 8, 2025) makes connections between Black freedom-makers across time and invites visitors into a global conversation on the continued impacts of slavery and colonialism, and connects race slavery, colonialism, natural resource exploitation, and other environmental history topics. Free timed-entry tickets required.
